Description

Join the Filson for a behind-the-scenes archives tour focusing on its unique collection of architectural drawings. The Filson holds records from more than 50 architects and firms. This collection documents the Ohio River Valley’s built environment from the mid-19th century through present day. Project types vary from residential to commercial, industrial design and landscape, as well as educational, cemetery and park design, railroad, and religious structures—to name only a few. The tour will conclude with a presentation of a few unique drawings. A box lunch will be provided. This program is the result of a partnership between the Filson Historical Society, the American Institute of Architects (Central Kentucky Chapter) and the University of Kentucky.
