Camp Zachary Taylor was one of the United States Army’s sixteen training camps erected during World War I, built to house an entire army division. Jennie Cole will share stories and images of Camp Taylor from the Filson’s collections, highlighting the background of the land, images of the camp and soldiers’ lives, and the development of subdivisions post-war. Jennie Cole is the Filson’s Manager of Collections Access and curator of the “Evolution of Camp Zachary Taylor” exhibit. She has degrees in History from Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville, and a degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Jennie has worked at The Filson for 11 years and enjoys learning something new about history every day.
