Ed Hamilton is one of Kentucky and the nation’s most distinguished sculptors. He has created countless public monuments to our country’s past, commemorating such figures and events as Abraham Lincoln, Booker T. Washington, the African American soldiers of the Civil War, Medgar Evers, Joe Louis, the Amistad Incident, and many others. Join us as Ed Hamilton discusses the vast body of work for which he has received national acclaim and shares the creative and technical processes that bring these sculptures to life.

Ed Hamilton was raised in and still resides in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2001 he received a commendation from President Bill Clinton for his sculpture of York on the Louisville Belvedere. For his works on the Louisville Waterfront, Hamilton received The Silver Anchor Award in 2011. In 2014 he was inducted into the Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame.
